We are seeking customer service focused individuals who have an interest in joining the aviation security sector. We invite you to submit your application for the position of Aviation Protection Officer at Brisbane Airport on a Part Time basis.

The certificate II Transport Security Protection (TSP) is an entry certificate required for all Aviation Screeners. As a registered training provider, we are able to deliver this qualification. We will guide you through the online learning modules and practical on-site training to prepare you for your new role as an Aviation Screener.

This nationally recognised qualification is offered at the cost of $1000 (normally valued at $2000). This includes approximately 25 hours online learning plus 5 days of paid practical training delivered within our airport operations.

The Position:

  • Responsible for consistent and standard security practices ensuring passengers and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to departure.
  • Control access to security sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, and identifying weapons, explosives and prohibited items.
  • Efficiently co-ordinate the flow of passengers through security screening.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and sound decision making skills.
  • Providing consistent high quality customer service.
  • Keeping yourself to a high level of personal grooming to the company standards.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Hold or obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection.
  • Paid on site training for this qualification will be provided to you.
  • Ability to successfully pass drug screening and medical assessments.
  • Ability to obtain an ASIC (criminal history clearance in the past 10 years).
  • Hold an unrestricted driver’s licence and have own reliable vehicle.
  • Full availability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster.
  • Full availability for the first 3 months of employment due to training schedule.

Other opportunities within this role:

We are also seeking applications from people with a valid QLD Security Licence to perform relief duties as an Active Surveillance Officer as required.

  • Previous CCTV experience and knowledge of active surveillance techniques would be essential to monitor airport operations using CCTV technology
