We have an opportunity for a Grounds Supervisor to join our team in Port Macquarie on a Full-Time basis.

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of the grounds, gardens, and facilities at Client’s Sites. The Grounds Supervisor is expected to uphold vision regarding welfare, public relations, and customer service in all interactions with internal and external clients, contractors, organizations, and the client's various community groups.

The Grounds Supervisor will lead and manage the Grounds Teams, with responsibilities including planning, coordinating, and overseeing all operational and administrative tasks related to turf management, groundskeeping, gardening, and maintenance at client’s sites. This role ensures that a high standard of presentation is consistently maintained across all locations.

The key responsibilities of this position align with ISS's commitment to delivering quality service. With service as a top priority, the Grounds Supervisor will ensure the safe operation of company equipment and perform all necessary duties to create and maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment for our client.

 

A snapshot of what you will do:

General works and maintenance programs e.g. mowing, general grounds work, grounds cleaning activities as identified in the Grounds Maintenance Program

  • Irrigation reticulation repairs and installations as required
  • Ensure works programs are maintained to the level as set per contract specifications
  • Work together with trust so that colleagues and management meet the goals of the department.
  • Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
  • Provide operational support to ensure compliance with legislation, guidelines, procedures and standards with respect to grounds and landscaping planning and operational management.
  • Assist the FM in the recruitment and selection of new staff, manage training and induction of ground maintenance teams.
  • Follow the expectations and guidelines outlined in the ISS Employee Handbook and ISS policies.
  • Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits following ISS Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  • Wear protective clothing provided where necessary and take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment.

 

What will you possess to be successful:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to provide a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Excellent work ethic with pride in workmanship
  • Sound time management skills, self-motivated and organised
